Dak Prescott Reveals Perfect Nickname for Dallas Cowboys Teammate Brandin Cooks
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

There’s no doubt that CeeDee Lamb deserves a ton of praise for helping anchor the Dallas Cowboys offense this 2023 season. Dak Prescott, however, doesn’t want fans to overlook one key member of the team that has been really impactful even though his efforts have gone unnoticed by fans: Brandin Cooks.

Speaking to reporters as they prepare for their Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders, Prescott made sure to give credit where it is due. The Cowboys quarterback complimented Cooks while talking about Lamb’s performance this season, emphasizing that the vet has been a great mentor and stabilizing force for the team.

“That’s who he’s been from the time he’s shown up. Honestly, talking about CeeDee, I think I would be remiss if I didn’t give some credit to Brandin Cooks and just the way he’s come in, being a veteran with a lot of success with different teams. Throughout the year, he’s really showing CeeDee how to prepare, how to get better and to not be satisfied at any point,” Prescott shared, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Prescott then proceeded to call Cooks as “Mr. Consistent,” not just because of the effort he brings in every game, but also due to the consistency of the work he puts in everyday–from practice to simply taking care of his body.

“That’s who Brandin is, Mr. Consistent. He’s consistent in his attitude each and every day, consistent in his work ethic, consistent in taking care of his body. All of that translates to him making plays on the field when the time is needed and making big-time catches. He’s a guy that’s far from satisfied,” Prescott added.

Brandin Cooks Deserves Praise from Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott

CeeDee Lamb leads the Dallas Cowboys in receiving touchdowns with 10, but while he has taken much of the spotlight, Brandin Cooks has really served as a great WR2 behind him.

Cooks already has seven receiving TDs to his name, which is second on the Cowboys. His presence has been really felt over the past couple of games, with his scores really helping Dallas stay close with the Miami Dolphins and beat the Detroit Lions.

In Week 16, Cooks’ TD reception off an eight-yard pass from Dak Prescott gave the Cowboys the 20-19 lead late in the fourth quarter. While Dallas was unable to hold onto the advantage, it was still a highlight play from Cooks worth celebrating.

Then in Week 17 against the Lions, Cooks once again connected with Prescott for another fourth-quarter TD to help the Cowboys take the lead after trailing 13-10.

Hopes are high that Cooks will be able to maintain the incredible run he’s having in Week 18 and come the postseason. Based on Prescott’s comments, though, fans shouldn’t have to worry about anything when it comes to Cooks.
