Colin Kaepernick goes Grinch route on Christmas

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made a bold statement about Christmas and gift-giving during a recent media appearance on his girlfriend’s show. Kaepernick is known for his political activism, but he apparently has strong feelings about the holidays.

Kaepernick risked his NFL career by taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutally. He hasn’t played since the 2016 season. Kaepernick might not be working in the league, but he’s found partnerships with Nike and other organizations to make money since his NFL career ended.

One might think Kaepernick has a fairly decent budget for Christmas presents, but he doesn’t have the will to give them. Kaepernick was recently on Nessa Diab’s show and was asked what he planned to buy Nessa for Christmas.

“We don’t celebrate Christmas,” Kaepernick said.

Diab didn’t seem too flustered by Kaepernick’s answer. She said it’s OK that they don’t exchange gifts at Christmas as a couple because they have great experiences together during the entire year.

Diab asked in her Instagram caption of the exchange with Kaepernick if the audience agrees that not giving gifts is okay because they “have love” as a couple.

“Do you agree with us, or are we the Grinch?” Diab asked.

I’m going to go with the Grinch.
