Cowboys second-year outside linebacker Micah Parsons’ Madden rating upset former Eagles defensive end Chris Long.
“Micah Parsons is an alien,” Long said Wednesday on his podcast. “You guys are a bunch of idiots, he’s 10 points better than anyone else on that team.”
The Cowboys and Eagles have been rivals for 62 years, so when one former player compliments another, it shows tremendous respect.
Parsons is the fourth-ranked player at his position (88), which isn’t terrible. But Parsons' zone (61) and man coverage (63) ratings upset him. According to Pro Football Focus, Parsons played 284 snaps of coverage last season, allowing zero touchdowns.
As a result, Parsons tweeted this:
They keep doing me wrong!! Need y’all to dial this hotline to get my #Madden23 ratings right… 689-278-3030 let em’ hear it! #EAathlete pic.twitter.com/l10OI7tF2g

“I need you to call this number for me, Madden did me so wrong,” Parsons said. “They obviously didn’t see my man and zone coverage from this past season.”
Long called the hotline saying, “I was once like a 90 in your game. I could never do anything that Micah Parsons can do.”
The ratings have been particularly controversial this year. The hotline received 1,000 calls after EA sports revealed them in July.
Regardless, Parsons is a bright spot on Cowboys team that is struggling to find offensive rhythm. He sacked Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady twice in Week 1.
