Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney takes a shot at Giants in viral video

When the New York Giants sent former first-round pick Kadarius Toney to the Kanas City Chiefs last October, all parties agreed it was a necessary change-of-scenery trade.

The move worked out for Toney, who played a key role in the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVII. Prior to Toney getting his Super Bowl ring from the team on June 15, the 24-year-old receiver didn’t hesitate to take a shot at his former team as he discussed his plans for the ring in a viral video.

"I got the Super Bowl ring coming for this finger right here," Toney said, pointing to the middle finger on his left hand. "For everybody in New York right here. Aye this for everybody in New York right here. It's going to be right here though. Y'all be tuned in. I might be viral somewhere. I’m going to go in the middle of New York with that middle finger up. I love trolling. They try to troll me, I’ve got something for them.”

Toney had just two receptions for zero yards through the first seven games of last season. He wasn’t incredibly productive after being traded to Kansas City either, totaling 14 receptions on 17 targets for 171 yards and two touchdowns in seven games, however, he made his mark in the postseason.

The University of Florida alum had a season-high five receptions for 36 yards in an AFC divisional round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and he saved his best performance for last.

In the Super Bowl, Toney caught a five-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter that gave the Chiefs a 28-27 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles, and he returned a punt 65 yards down to the Philly five-yard line that set up a Skyy Moore four-yard touchdown that extended Kansas City’s lead to 35-27.

Those two plays were arguably bigger than any moments Toney had in his 12-game stint with the Giants, who drafted him 20th overall in the 2021 draft.
