Chargers to re-sign quarterback

The Chargers will be eyeing a new-look offense next season, but the team is valuing some continuity in the quarterbacks room. The team is re-signing quarterback Easton Stick, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. This is the second straight offseason that Stick has sign a new deal with the organization.

The former fifth-round pick has spent most of his career backing up Justin Herbert in Los Angeles. He’s been on the roster for five seasons but has only seen game action in two of those campaigns, including a 2020 season where he was limited to only pass attempt.

The North Dakota State product finally got a chance to start in 2023 after Herbert went down with a hand injury. While the Chargers went 0-4 with Stick under center, the QB didn’t look completely helpless. The 28-year-old ultimately finished the campaign having completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 1,129 yards and three touchdowns (vs. only one interception). He added another 144 yards and a score on 27 rushing attempts.

The Chargers are undergoing some major offensive changes this offseason. In the past week, the team has moved on from their top two receivers (Keenan Allen, Mike Williams), their top running back (Austin Ekeler), and their top tight end (Gerald Everett).
