Browns TE David Njoku shares shocking photo of burns suffered in accident

A little more than a week ago, Browns TE David Njoku suffered burns from a fire pit accident at his home. He went on to play in the Week 4 matchup and just revealed how serious his injuries were.

Njoku posted the photo on his Instagram, proving his effort and dedication to playing for Cleveland as he had to have been in serious pain outside of playing in a hard-hitting AFC North tilt against the Ravens. The team called him a "warrior" after the game.

The Browns did go on to lose 28-3 but Njoku ended the day as the team's leading receiver with six catches for 46 yards.

Prior to the game, the 27-year-old wore a mask that covered his face while walking into the stadium to prevent anyone from seeing what initially happened.

Luckily for Njoku, Cleveland had its bye in Week 5 so he's had some extra time to heal up with a long season still ahead, which is important because he is a key part of the offense with 16 catches for 138 yards just four games in.

Njoku has since tried to turn his accident into a positive thing by launching a clothing line and donating a portion of the proceeds to the American Burn Association.

"I want to use my platform to help bring awareness to an all too common issue," Njoku said. "The doctors at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center were instrumental in my recovery, and I am forever grateful for their expertise and care."

Njoku, of course, appeared on the injury report but is not expected to miss any time as the Browns are set to host the 49ers (5-0) in Week 7. Njoku will need to do anything he can to help his team's pass attack as San Francisco's defense has allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (64.2).
