Browns TE David Njoku says fire pit accident was 'cool'

It's been two weeks since Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku's frightening fire pit accident and now he's reflecting on the incident.

While the 27-year-old thanked God that he survived and wasn't blinded, he also had some curious words about the experience.

Njoku suffered burns to his arm, face and hands after attempting to light a fire pit in his backyard during the evening of Sept. 29. Njoku was listed as questionable for that weekend's contest against the Baltimore Ravens and not only suited up but ended the 28-3 loss as the team's leading receiver with six catches for 46 yards.

The Browns just had their bye in Week 5, which gave the University of Miami product extra time to recover. Njoku is still listed as questionable for Week 6's tilt against the San Francisco 49ers but is expected to play.

The 2017 first-round pick shared a shocking photo on his Instagram of the face burns earlier this week.

Prior to the game against the Ravens, Njoku wore a mask that covered his face while walking into the stadium to prevent anyone from seeing what had happened.

As scary (and perhaps preventable) as the incident could've been, Njoku has tried to turn the situation into a positive by launching a clothing line and donating part of the proceeds to the American Burn Association.

The tight end is third on the team in targets (18), receptions (16) and receiving yards (138) through four games.
