Bills agree to sign son of RB great
Frank Gore Jr. Robert McDuffie-USA TODAY Sports

The second generation is ruling the weekend in the NFL.

Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reported Saturday that the Buffalo Bills have agreed to sign running back Frank Gore Jr. The 22-year-old former Southern Miss star was not drafted this year but is signing with Buffalo as an undrafted free agent.

Gore Jr. is the eldest son of legendary running back Frank Gore. The elder Gore, who is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, made five Pro Bowls and an All-Pro team at the RB position, finishing his career with 16,000 rushing yards (the third most all-time). While Gore’s best years came elsewhere, he played one year for Buffalo near the end of his career in 2019.

It has been all about the legacy plays in the NFL this year. Most notably, Marvin Harrison Jr. went No. 4 overall to the Arizona Cardinals. But plenty of other sons of famous NFL stars have followed suit as well. The Eagles just drafted the son of their former All-Pro defender, and the 49ers went out and signed the son of an iconic player. Gore Jr, who rushed for 1,131 yards and ten touchdowns at Southern Miss last season, is now a part of that list too.
