Bengals' Owner Mike Brown Releases Statement In Support Of Damar Hamlin
USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is still fighting in a local hospital as the world awaits an official medical update following last night's tragic incident.

Bengals owner Mike Brown released a statement on the situation:

"First and foremost, the Bengals continue to send thoughts and prayers to Damar Hamlin and his family. Our hearts are with everyone in this unprecedented time - what we can do is support one another. Last night was supposed to be a great night for the NFL and a great showcase for our hometown. Instead, the human side of our sport became paramount ... and in that moment, humanity and love rose to the forefront.

"As medical personnel undertook extraordinary measures, both teams demonstrated respect and compassion while fans in the stadium and people around the country bolstered the support for Damar and love for each other. The Bengals are thankful for the love and compassion shown by all. Praying for Damar."

The safety tackled Bengals' wide receiver Tee Higgins in the first quarter of Monday night's game and then immediately collapsed after getting up from the play. Paramedics administered CPR and an AED on the field for nearly 10 minutes before transporting him to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Fans immediately found a GoFundMe toy drive fundraiser that Hamlin started in 2020. The original goal was $2,500—as of this writing—the total had surpassed $3.8 million in donations. Click here to support.
