Bears rookie DB says he was the 'steal' of the 2022 NFL Draft

Amid a standout rookie campaign, Chicago Bears rookie DB Jaquan Brisker recently took to social media to hype himself up.

The 23-year-old, who has started all 10 games for the Bears, retweeted a breakdown of his season stats while proclaiming he was the "steal" of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Selected out of Penn State with a second-round pick acquired in the Khalil Mack trade, Brisker has already turned heads by solidifying himself as a starter.

Others, like former Bears DE Alex Brown, believe Brisker can be a "Pro Bowl-type player" for years.

Brown, who spent eight seasons playing in Chicago, told 670 The Score that the Bears have been searching for a player like Brisker since Adrian Amos left for the Green Bay Packers via free agency in 2019.

He also compared Briskers' skill set to several former Bears safeties, including Mike Brown and Chris Harris.

"If he ends up being a bigger Mike Brown?" Brown said. "Oh my gosh, what do we have?"

While there's been little to complain about regarding rookie's play this season, according to Pro Football Focus' Michael Renner, Brisker's tackling needs improvement.

"He's racked up 13 stops for the Bears defense, including three sacks for a 69.5 overall grade so far," Renner wrote. "Now he needs to clean up the missed tackles after missing 11 of his 62 attempts this season."
