Bears plan to interview 49ers assistant Klint Kubiak
Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

NFL teams consistently look to San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan's coaching staff in search of promising football minds. It appears the Chicago Bears are eyeing one of his key assistants for a potential role.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Bears plan to interview 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak for their offensive coordinator position.

Kubiak joined Shanahan's coaching staff last year, stepping in for Bobby Slowik, who departed to become the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans.

Kubiak entered the NFL coaching ranks as an offensive assistant with the Broncos in 2016. He subsequently served as the quarterbacks coach (2019-20) and offensive coordinator (2021) for the Minnesota Vikings before returning to the Broncos as their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2022.

Klint Kubiak is the son of former Texans and Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak and the brother of Klay Kubiak, the 49ers' assistant quarterbacks coach.
