Bears beef up the protection for new QB Caleb Williams with the 75th overall pick in the third round

Amegadjie is the perfect developmental prospect for the Bears at left tackle to eventually take over as the team's starter. In the meantime, Amegadjie will likely play behind left tackle Braxton Jones with Darnell Wright at right tackle.

The Bears held a local visit with Amegadjie and are really impressed with what he can eventually become for the team's offense. 

After suffering a quad injury during the 2023 season, Amegadjie missed out on showcasing his talents at the Senior Bowl but was still able to pop up on the Bears' radar. Amegadjie is a phenomenal run blocker and just needs more time to develop.

"I feel really good right now and I'm ready to get to work," Amegadjie said. "Obviously it was a really bad timing of the injury but God works in mysterious ways. It's the path I had to take to get to where I am today. I'm not going to let it deter me moving forward."

Amegadjie athletically has a lot to be excited about considering his size with his length and ability to use his feet. The Athletic's Dane Brugler listed Amegadjie as his 12th ranked offensive tackle but believes he can become an NFL starter.

"Overall, Amegadjie is a raw prospect who needs technical and strength work before he sees live NFL reps, but his physical ingredients and competitive drive are the foundational elements that pro coaches want to develop," Brugler said.

The best part of Amegadjie as a prospect and potential long-term player is the confidence he has in himself despite coming from a smaller school.

"I have a skill set that nobody else has in this whole type of class," Amegadjie said at the NFL Scouting Combine. "The length, the athleticism, the power, the explosiveness. So, I may be raw, but that may be my best attribute. I'm somebody who's ceiling is extremely high. I think I have the highest ceiling in this entire draft class."

If Amegadjie can reach his full potential, this will turn out to be a phenomenal long-term outlook and investment for the Bears' offense as Caleb Williams' blindside tackle.
