Alex Cappa's worst NFL season continued on Sunday with a whooping from Sheldon Rankins. The Texans defensive tackle posted a career-high seven pressures and three sacks, all coming in 26 matchups with Cappa.

NFL NextGen Stats broke down the numbers as the right guard tailspins in his sixth NFL season. He boasts a career-low 56.6 overall Pro Football Focus grade through nine games and has just one outing graded 70 or higher (82.2 against Seattle).

He and Cordell Volson (51.6 overall in 2023) have been the worst offensive linemen on the team.

Among 60 NFL guards to play at least 314 snaps, Cappa and Volson entered the loss ranked among the bottom-25 guards in overall grade. All while they make up 40% of the sixth-most expensive line in the league this season by cap spending.

Cappa posted a 12.7 pass-blocking grade against Houston, his worst NFL mark since his rookie season.
