49ers K Robbie Gould not contemplating retirement as free agency approaches
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Robbie Gould plans to keep on kicking into the 2023 NFL season. Whether that will be with the San Francisco 49ers remains to be seen. The 40-year-old kicker is one of several 49ers players scheduled to become a free agent in March. He has no plans to call it a career.

"I'm nowhere near retiring," Gould told Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area on Tuesday. "I got a lot left to do from a career perspective—No. 1 being winning a Super Bowl. And, two, I'm pretty close to a lot of milestones I think would be pretty neat to be able to accomplish."

Gould connected on all eight of his field-goal attempts through three postseason games this season and made all five extra-point attempts in those contests. He remains a perfect 29-of-29 on field goals and 39-of-39 on extra points in his postseason career.

Gould's 29 field goals made and 39 extra points without a miss are the most in NFL history. His 126 total points in his postseason career is tied for the seventh most in NFL history with running backs Emmitt Smith and Thurman Thomas.
