The Arizona Cardinals waived veteran TE Zach Ertz last week. He signed with the Cardinals in October 2021 and played 28 games for them in three years. Now that Ertz is no longer on the Cardinals, some NFL teams will look to acquire his services to bolster their squad. One such team that is rumored to be interested in the tight end is the San Francisco 49ers.
The Niners recently lost their tight end Ross Dwellery for multiple weeks due to a high-ankle sprain. The Athletic‘s Matt Barrows had reported that the Niners are among the “most interested” teams in the veteran TE. Their GM John Lynch talked about the team’s interest in Ertz during his appearance on the Bay Area radio station KNBR.
Lynch said:
We're always monitoring things. When you have the opportunity, [when] a guy like Ertz is out there, you always take a look. We haven't done anything yet. We'll see where that goes. We'll continue to monitor him as we do many other people that are out there James Lynch on KNBR

Ertz is a Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles and has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times before. He established himself as one of the best TEs in the league in the last decade and has racked up 7,434 career receiving yards so far.
The San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles game had a lot of spice. The biggest incident of the game occurred between the Eagles’ security lead Dom DiSandro and the Niners’ LB Dre Greenlaw . Both the parties involved were ejected from the game. The Niners’ GM John Lynch reportedly talked to DiSandro after the game.
NFL Insider Mike Garafolo said:
Greenlaw said he and John Lynch exchanged messages with Dom DiSandro and the Eagles about Sunday's incident and double ejection. He said both sides apologized to the other for the situation. Greenlaw said DiSandro seems like a good guy. https://t.co/pwVj1QY3RR
