Watch: Thunder center faints in scary incident, doesn't return to game

In a scary moment, Thunder big man Bismack Biyombo collapsed while standing in front of his team bench during the second quarter of Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

As seen below, Biyombo was on the sidelines waiting to greet Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his other teammates during a timeout when he suddenly fell backward onto Mike Muscala and struck the floor. Thunder's announcers on Bally Sports said that Muscala was petrified for his teammate as OKC's medical staff rushed to tend to the Congolese veteran.

The incident caused a lengthy delay, during which a wheelchair was brought onto the court. Thankfully, Biyombo could walk back to the locker room of his own volition, albeit while holding the back of his head, as seen in another video below.

While it's unknown what triggered Biyombo's collapse, Bally Sports' sideline reporter, Nick Gallo, provided an update on his condition after the game.

Bismack Biyombo has been cleared of any serious medical issue by the Blazers physicians but the Thunder will be conservative and hold him out the rest of the game for monitoring and further evaluation tomorrow.

Meanwhile, OKC coach provided a more encouraging update during the post-game presser.

"He's fine," Daigneault said of Biyombo. "He just fainted, basically, but he was in the locker room during halftime laughing and joking. He stayed back there, but he's doing fine."

Biyombo, a 13-year veteran, was in the middle of just his fifth game as a member of the Thunder after signing with the team on Feb. 10. He joined Oklahoma City after being waived by the Grizzlies.
