Ja Morant came into Tuesday’s Grizzlies-Spurs matchup hunting Victor Wembanyama. The predator ended up catching its prey.
Morant saw an opportunity early in the fourth quarter at FedExForum in Memphis. Wembanyama got switched onto the shifty guard on a pick and roll.
The two-time All-Star hit Wemby with a nasty right-to-left crossover. The Iverson-esque move gave Morant enough time to rise up for a two-handed slam that gave the Grizzlies an 88-70 lead.

It was clear from the opening minute of Tuesday’s game that Morant was going to attack Wembanyama. Wemby swatted the Grizzlies star’s layup to start the first quarter.
But the early futility might have added fueled Morant even more throughout the game.
