Timberwolves To Sign PJ Dozier

Dozier, 25, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in 18 games with the Nuggets last season before suffering a torn ACL. He was then traded to the Celtics in January, before being dealt to the Magic in February. The Magic waived him on the same day.

Known as being a strong wing defender, his best season offensively came in 2020-21 with the Nuggets, when he averaged 7.7 points on 42 percent shooting.

Former Nuggets head of basketball operations Tim Connelly is now in the same position with the Timberwolves, and it was Connelly’s front office that converted Dozier’s two-way two-way contract to a regular contract in June 2020.

The Timberwolves already have 17 players on their roster, including 12 with guaranteed deals. So Dozier’s contract is likely either not guaranteed or partially guaranteed, as he will fight for a roster spot at training camp.
