"They are good for us" - Brook Lopez believes mounting losses will help the Milwaukee Bucks become a better team

The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a dismal start this year, losing four of their first five games and have dropped their last two games.

But for veteran center Brook Lopez, the Bucks could actually become better because of the slump, believing that the team can learn a thing or two from the mounting losses.

“All good teams go through them. It’s important to take what we can..the positives from these experiences. Regroup and know that in the long run, they are good for us. We will look back at these moments, these stretches, as the things that made us better,” Lopez said.

Brook said the Bucks are sticking together despite the string of losses and continue to believe in each other.

Having each other’s back

The sweet-shooting center also assured that the Bucks will be able to make the necessary adjustments and return to their winning ways.

“We don’t have any bad guys on this team or anything like that. We’re all out there, we trust in one another, just sticking with our team’s belief, our team’s system, everything that we all buy in and we all have each other’s backs. Everything’s going to be fine,” Lopez said.

While Lopez is confident that the Bucks can bounce back from the string losses, he admitted that the team has a lot of fixings to do.

“I think there’s a lot of things. I think energy and effort can definitely be better for a full 48 minutes, pretty much night in, night out. Communication, things of that nature, they don’t take a specific talent set or size or any attributes. Just going out there and try to help the team be better, try to help the teammates be better that puts everyone to be better defensively,” said Lopez.

Slow starts have also been plaguing the Bucks. In their last three losses, they found themselves down in each of the first quarters of those three games.

Lopez believes that opposing teams are extra motivated when playing against them, knowing they are up against one of the league’s teams. That’s why, for Brook, it’s imperative for the Bucks to have the right mindset right from the get-go.

“I think it’s just more of a mentality thing more than anything. We have to come out ready every single game regardless of who we playing knowing that teams are always going to be up to play us. They want to come out, they want to beat us. They want to play hard against us. We have to go in ready to go from the get-go every single day,” Lopez ended.
