Stephen Curry Seemingly Implies That The Warriors Don't Need Kevin Durant: “You Know How Quickly Things Can Change, But I Like Where We’re At.”

The Golden State Warriors have been mentioned as one of the teams that could make a move for Kevin Durant after the 2x NBA champion requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets last week. Following that moment, many teams have been linked with a move for KD, including the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and even Philadelphia 76ers.

Well, the Warriors are part of that list too, and seeing the quality of players they have, the Dubs might have the best package to send to Brooklyn in exchange for Durant, but right now nothing is official between the 2022 NBA champions and the Eastern Conference franchise.

Meanwhile, everybody is expressing their opinion on this matter, including Durant's former teammates. Stephen Curry was really quiet about this, but he recently talked with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole, saying that he's confident in his team right now, but making it clear that is normal to have rumors around the league.

Even though he didn't say it directly, Curry apparently implied that the Warriors are and will be just fine without Kevin Durant on the roster.

“The rumor mill and all that stuff is part of the nature of the NBA and league,” Curry said. “You take it for what it is.

“You know how quickly things can change, but I like where we’re at.”

The Warriors just finished a magical 2022 NBA season where they became world champions for the fourth time in the last seven years. Even though they missed some key pieces in free agency like Juan Toscano-Anderson, Nemanja Bjelica and Gary Payton II, the Dubs know they have a terrific squad that is set to compete for many more years.

Curry knows that having Durant would be great for the next two or three years, but keeping their current core would work wonders for them for the next 5 or 7 years. Golden State won again and they're not planning to stop anytime soon. That will happen with or without Kevin Durant.
