Stephen Curry calls his shot with prediction for Warriors in 2023-24

Stephen Curry dropped his prediction for the Golden State Warriors this upcoming season, and did so in such a nonchalant fashion that it’s hard not to buy some stock in his claim.

During an interview on ESPN’s NBA Today on Wednesday, Malika Andrews mentioned comments made by Draymond Green stating his belief that this Warriors core group can go on to win “more than one more” NBA title.

Andrews then asked Curry if he thinks they have a couple more titles in them, to which the Warriors star had a prompt and perfect response.

"Oh, absolutely, but we're gonna start with one. And it's gonna be this year,” Curry proclaimed.

Curry called his shot with the prediction that the Warriors will take home the title this year, and to be fair, it’s not surprising to see him carrying around that confidence.

Most NBA stars (Jimmy Butler would surely attest to this) appear to be more than willing to publicly proclaim their belief that a championship is on the horizon.

But since it came from Curry, and the Warriors’ primary core for their stretch of three NBA titles in four seasons, along with five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, it feels even more noteworthy.

It’s a new-look Warriors group in one very specific way, following the trade that brought Chris Paul to town.

With Paul, 38, seeking his first NBA title, and the Warriors opting to cut the tension between Green and now-Wizards guard Jordan Poole, there’s certainly a lot to like about Golden State entering the season.

But in a loaded Western Conference, it’ll be a tall task to revert to the team we saw win the title in 2021-22, but betting against Curry feels like a bad idea — regardless of the situation surrounding him.
