Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich Talks About Lakers’ LeBron James: ‘He’s A Miracle, He Really Is, He’s Something Else’
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

After the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Los Angeles Lakers last night (2/23), Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich talked about NBA legend LeBron James

Popovich, one of the biggest LeBron fans in the NBA, said the Lakers star is “a miracle.”

“You look at his age, his conditioning, what he does, he’s a miracle,” Popovich said about LeBron. “He really is. He’s something else.”

The Lakers beat the Spurs by a final score of 123-118. LeBron finished with 30 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in 34 minutes while shooting 13-of-22 from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

LeBron, 39, is the oldest player in the NBA. He’s been in the league since 2003 and has played in 10 Finals. It would be normal for The King to be putting up average numbers this season.

However, LeBron is anything but ordinary. The four-time MVP and four-time Finals MVP is averaging 24.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 7.8 assists. He’s 18th in the league in points, 16th in points per game, eighth in assists, eighth in assists per game and 16th in player efficiency rating.

A 20-time All-Star, LeBron is first in NBA history in points, second in field goals, fourth in assists, ninth in steals, fifth in triple-doubles, seventh in points per game, third in player efficiency rating, eighth in 3-point field goals and second in win shares.

LeBron is the only player in NBA history to rank top five all-time in both points and assists. He’s also the only player to have at least 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 career assists.

Arguably the best player of all time, LeBron has won one championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, two with the Miami Heat and one with the Lakers. He’s the only player in NBA history to win three Finals MVPs with three different franchises.

The first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, LeBron is 102 points away from becoming the first player ever to score 40,000 career points.
