Sixers' Jalen McDaniels Suffers Injury vs. Wizards

As the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Washington Wizards on Sunday night, the team ruled out their reserve wing, Jalen McDaniels.

According to a team official, McDaniels left the game with a hip injury in the first half. After getting checked out at halftime, the Sixers found out that McDaniels was dealing with a right hip contusion.

During the first half, McDaniels checked in for a little under eight minutes of action. During his time on the floor, McDaniels attempted three shots, draining two of his attempts. He came out of the first half with six points.

Sunday’s game marked the 13th outing McDaniels played for the Sixers since he was traded to the team ahead of the early February deadline. Prior to Sunday’s game, McDaniels came off the bench for 11 of the 12 games he appeared in.

During that time, McDaniels spent 17 minutes on the floor per game. So far, McDaniels has averaged six points, four rebounds, and one steal per game. He’s knocked down 49 percent of his field goals, draining 30 percent of his threes.

It’s unclear how severe McDaniels’ setback is, but he’ll take the rest of Sunday’s game off before the Sixers get a two-day break. 

The next time McDaniels could potentially take the floor is on Wednesday, March 15, when the Sixers pay a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time this season.
