Should Suns Bring Back Familiar Face?
Michael McLoone-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns should look into a reunion with a former beloved member of the franchise.

At least, as far as B/R writer Zach Buckley is concerned

The Bleacher Report writer revealed "sneaky" free-agent signings all thirty teams could make right now, and the Suns are being linked to none other than Goran Dragic.

Buckley goes into detail as to why Dragic makes sense at this juncture, going on to say:

"You may have heard a time or 20 that the Suns have less than elite options when it comes to natural point guards. Adding a 37-year-old Goran Dragić would hardly take that concern off the table," he wrote.

"It could, however, help expand the organization's offensive menu. Given the seemingly nightly challenges of finding consistent offense from players not named Kevin Durant, Devin Booker or (when rarely healthy) Bradley Beal, that might be reason enough to bring Dragić back to where his career started.

"He's a defensive sieve who's a more natural scorer than table-setter, but he can still run offense as a regular-season innings-eater. Last season, he averaged 15.1 points and 6.2 assists against 2.6 turnovers per 36 minutes while shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from deep. Those numbers could be enough to command a complementary role in this point guard group."

Dragic's best days are behind him, and he hasn't played in the NBA since a Game 3 loss to the Miami Heat in the first round of last year's postseason as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks

It does make sense to potentially bring Dragic in as a proverbial "innings-eater," as it would likely only be at the expense of Bol Bol's roster spot.

Dragic played for the Suns in two different stints- from 2008-2011 and 2012-2015. Dragic won NBA Most Improved Player in 2014, along with being an All-NBA third team selection.

He scored 23 fourth-quarter points in game three of the 2010 Western Conference Semifinals as well, helping Phoenix take a 3-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs

Will a Dragic reunion be considered? it remains to be seen, but the proposition seems to be reasonable at the surface despite his age.
