Report: Nuggets, 76ers, Suns Interested In Clippers’ PJ Tucker
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

According to NBA insider Matt Moore of The Action Network, the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns are interested in Los Angeles Clippers forward PJ Tucker.

Tucker is no longer in the Clippers’ rotation.

“The P.J. Tucker situation with the Clippers, where the veteran is out of the rotation, is sticky,” Moore wrote. “He would prefer a new home where he can contribute, but the only teams interested are direct competitors for the NBA title. The Clippers don’t want to play him, but they don’t want to play against him in a big game environment, either. The Nuggets, 76ers and Suns are among the interested teams, but likely only if he’s bought out.”

Tucker has not played since November 27 against the Nuggets. The Clippers acquired Tucker from the Sixers in the James Harden trade.

Tucker is averaging 1.2 points and 2.4 rebounds with the Clippers while shooting 28.6% from the floor and 27.3% from beyond the arc in 14.4 minutes per game. He is making $11 million this season and has a player option worth $11.5 million for the 2024-25 season.

Tucker has expressed frustration about his situation with the Clippers and both sides are discussing ways to resolve a role for him in LA or somewhere else, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Tucker has career averages of 6.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Toronto Raptors, Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, Sixers and Clippers. He helped the Bucks win the 2021 championship over the Suns in six games.
