Raptors Update Gary Trent Jr.'s Status For Monday vs. Wizards
Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Gary Trent Jr. is once again on the injury report for the Toronto Raptors as questionable to play with right foot plantar fasciitis, the team announced.

Trent aggravated the injury during practice Friday afternoon and popped up on the injury report early Saturday as doubtful to play. He was ultimately ruled out, missing his first game of the season.

The 24-year-old has struggled to get going this year, averaging just 10.4 points on 36.9% shooting so far this year. It's unclear if his foot injury has played a part in his slow start this season.

Toronto did, however, get Precious Achiuwa back from a left groin injury to help bolster the bench Saturday night. It wasn't exactly a pretty return for Achiuwa, though, who struggled in his nearly 19 minutes of action against Boston, scoring just two points and recording a negative 12 plus-minus.

Expect Otto Porter Jr. to continue to see an increased role off the bench for the Raptors as he's now played at least 14 minutes in four of Toronto's last five games. Malachi Flynn has also been a bit of a spark lately, providing some solid guard depth over the past couple of games off the bench.

Christian Koloko is the only other Raptors player out as he continues battling an ongoing respiratory issue.

Washington will be on the second night of a back-to-back but Delon Wright will certainly be ruled out Monday as he continues to recover from a right knee sprain that's expected to keep him sidelined for four to six weeks.
