Two games are left in the Phoenix Suns’ season, and both are against tough teams in the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings. The Suns have a lot of work to do if they want to make a deep playoff run with their top-heavy team.

Isaiah Thomas is especially motivated to win it all with the Suns. His assured contract through the rest of the 2023-24 season saw him team up with players of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker’s caliber. This gives Thomas the chance to chase for the championship that’s eluded him during his peak years with the Boston Celtics.

While the Suns will likely have to go through the gauntlet of the play-in tournament, IT has a clear warning to the rest of the NBA: the Suns will turn into a different team once the playoffs start.

Isaiah Thomas believes the Phoenix Suns can make a lot of noise in the 2024 playoffs

Isaiah Thomas made an appearance at the Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambino to talk about the team’s mentality to the season finale, specifically their upcoming matches against Minnesota and Sacramento.

Thomas observed that the team has what it takes to put the hurt on any NBA team, but consistency is what’s killing the team.

Per Arizona Sports’ Damon Allred:

“With me being around this team the last few weeks and seeing how much firepower we really have, if things really come together in terms of getting the right stride at the right time, I think the world knows how scary we can be,” Thomas said. “I think we just gotta be a little more consistent on both ends of the floor, communicate a little bit more as well, and if we do those things, the sky is the limit for this team each and every day.”

The Suns have the talent to make a deep playoff run. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker have been outstanding this season, both averaging around 27 points and at least five assists a game. Bradley Beal is doing a phenomenal job as the third star, with a solid stat line of 17.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists a game.

Thomas has only played five games for the Suns this season, averaging a point over the course of those five games. However, the Suns can count on him to bring hustle and defense if his number gets called at any point of their playoff run.
