Nuggets forward set to return from unusual injury
Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon is set to return from his unusual injury much more quickly than most would have expected.

Gordon told Bennett Durando of the Denver Post that he plans on playing Monday against the Charlotte Hornets, just one week after suffering a dog bite. Gordon admitted he had been bitten by his pet rottweiler, who remains a “good dog” despite whatever happened.

Gordon suffered hand and face injuries thanks to the dog bite, which took place on Christmas. The forward needed 21 stitches as a result of the injuries and initially there was no timetable for his return. That certainly made it sound like Gordon might miss more than a week due to the injury.

The Nuggets will be glad to get Gordon back, as his defensive versatility is key to their lineup. The 28-year-old forward is averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds this season.
