Bearcats basketball legend Oscar Robertson has a statue outside of Fifth Third Arena and another one just got commissioned in Indianapolis. The statue is going up at his alma mater, Crispus Attucks High School.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver discussed the honor ahead of All-Star Weekend in the city.

“Oscar Robertson’s legendary basketball journey began in Indianapolis where he led Crispus Attucks High School to the first state championship in the country won by an all-Black team,” Silver said in a news release. “We are thrilled to join the Pacers in commissioning a statue in recognition of Oscar’s extraordinary impact on the game and his hometown.”

The statue is scheduled for completion in 2025 as Cincinnati's all-time leading scorer and rebounder gets more worthy recognition.
