NBA double-double prop: Drummond finds a rhythm

This piece aims to identify a player who represents good value for recording a double-double in a particular game. If the player posts double-digit totals in any two of the five main categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals), backers will at least double their money — and sometimes make much more than that.

The bet: A double-double for Bulls center Andre Drummond (+220 FanDuel)

Despite being in his 12th year out of UConn, Drummond is still just 30 years old. He no longer contends for the league’s rebounding crown, which he captured four times during his tenure with the Pistons, but he remains a force on the glass.

Drummond has collected at least 11 rebounds in four of the last five games and posted a double-double in three of them. He started just twice over that stretch because Chicago also boasts Nikola Vucevic at center, but the team figures to deploy its “twin towers” more often due to injuries in the frontcourt. Torrey Craig sustained a knee sprain while working out over the weekend, forcing him to join fellow power forward Patrick Williams (foot) on the bench.

In the 11 games that he played at least 20 minutes this season, Drummond has averaged 13.9 points and always pulled down double-digit boards. He has seen a whopping 25 rebound chances in each of the last two contests. While that number will likely decrease against the strong-rebounding Celtics, there should still be plenty of opportunities to double up. — John Dudley
