Myles Turner and Pascal Siakam earn more Player of the Week nominations for Pacers
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA announced the winners and finalists for the most recent conference player of the week awards today, and the Indiana Pacers had some familiar names get mentioned.

Both of their frontcourt starters, Myles Turner and Pascal Siakam, were nominees for the honor. The award was designed to reward the player with the best performances in games played between March 11 and March 17 of 2024.

In that span, the Pacers went 2-1. That includes a big-time win over Oklahoma City and a crushing loss versus Chicago. Indiana's week was up-and-down, but the peaks were higher than the valleys were low.

The winner of the award for the week in the East was Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks. Brunson averaged 35.7 points and 5.0 assists per game while the Knicks went 3-0. He was dominant, and New York is pushing ahead in the race for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

In the West, Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets took home the honor thanks to his terrific scoring and rebounding nights.

The Pacers didn't win as much as they needed to in order to have a Player of the Week on their roster, but both Turner and Siakam were terrific. They each had among their best games of the season for the blue and gold this past week.

Siakam averaged 21 points and 10.3 rebounds per game during the three outings, including a 28-point outing against the Brooklyn Nets. That night, he added 11 rebounds and played what head coach Rick Carlisle called his best defensive game of the season. It capped off a great seven-day stretch.

Turner, meanwhile, averaged 20.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He knocked down over half of his outside shots, including four massive ones against Chicago, and he finished with 27 points against the Bulls. He is approaching Indiana's franchise record for total blocks.

This is Siakam's fourth nomination for a Player of the Week award with the Pacers — he was a finalist last week as well. He has nearly been a Player of the Month award winner twice as well.

Turner has a few weekly nominations this season, and he and Siakam were jointly finalists for a Player of the Week honor last month. They fit well together in the frontcourt.

Those two and the rest of the Pacers roster will try to keep things rolling tonight as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
