Vit Krejci is coming off a year where he appeared in 29 regular season games for the Atlanta Hawks.
He averaged 1.2 points per contest while shooting 40.5% from the field and 23.8% from the three-point range.
In addition, Krejci spent time in the G League with the College Park Skyhawks and had averages of 9.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range in three regular season games.
This summer, he became a free agent and signed a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
However, Keith Smith of Spotrac reported that the Timberwolves have now waived Krejci.
Via Smith: "The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived Vit Krejci, a league source tells @spotrac."
Krejci was initially the 37th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and has spent two seasons in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks.
Over 59 games, he has career averages of 3.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 40.7% from the field and 31.1% from the three-point range.
Based on the transaction's timing, Krejci may begin the season with the Iowa Wolves (G League affiliate of the Timberwolves).
As for the Timberwolves, they are coming off a year where they were the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record.
They lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the Denver Nuggets in five games.
On October 25, the Timberwolves will play their first game of the regular season when they visit the Toronto Raptors in Canada.
