Luka Doncic Shares Support for Injured Nuggets Player
USA TODAY Sports

Playing in Friday's Slovenia vs. Greece game, Denver Nuggets forward Vlatko Cancar suffered a left knee injury after throwing down an emphatic dunk. The Slovenian forward exited the game and did not return, but he was seen walking out of the building under his own power.

It was reported by Antonis Stroggylakis of Eurohoops.net that Cancar's Slovenia teammate Jordan Morgan said, "The only thing that can tell us is the MRI. From what I understood, the initial tests were positive actually. So, we'll see. We are all just hopeful because he's a very important piece for this team."

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is also on Team Slovenia, and shared his support for Cancar in an Instagram story post:

Doncic is of course the best player on Slovenia's national team, and is hoping his teammate Cancar is okay. It was great to see Cancar walking out of the arena, albeit with a limp, because it at least indicated the Nuggets forward was able to put pressure on his injured leg.

While Cancar didn't play big minutes for the Nuggets last season, he did appear in 60 games, and could be ready for an increased role next season with the departure of some key bench pieces. The Nuggets and Team Slovenia are hopeful this injury is not a serious one, and Cancar can get back out on the court soon.
