Knicks eyeing another trade with Raptors?
Bruce Brown Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks brass may very well have Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri on speed dial at this point. The Knicks reportedly have another trade target from north of the border.

The Raptors on Wednesday traded away All-Star Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers for Bruce Brown and draft capital.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, there is “internal interest” within the Knicks organization to acquire Brown from the Raptors.

Brown signed a hefty 2-year deal with the Pacers this offseason but the Knicks were very much on his radar. The 1-time NBA champion’s first meeting in free agency was with the Knicks.

The Knicks could use some depth at the wing spot — particularly the kind that head coach Tom Thibodeau can trust. Former Raptors forward OG Anunoby played 43.5 minutes over the Knicks’ last two games. Thibs favorite Josh Hart has also continued to log heavy minutes off the bench.

With the Raptors in rebuild mode, they may be willing to part ways with a proven veteran in Brown for future assets.

However, the Raptors are also within striking distance of a Play-In spot and now have a Siakam-shaped hole to fill in their rotation.

In 33 games with the Pacers, Brown averaged 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
