Kenyon Martin Jr.'s Instagram Post After Getting Traded From Rockets To Clippers
USA TODAY Sports

Kenyon Martin Jr. is coming off the best year of his NBA career, where he averaged 12.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 56.9% from the field in 82 games for the Houston Rockets (he played in every game).

While the Rockets were not a good team (22-60), Martin Jr. showed that he has the ability to be a solid player in the NBA.

He is only 22 years old, so there is still plenty of time for him to continue developing.

Over the offseason, Martin Jr. was traded from the Rockets to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Therefore, he is now joining a team that has the talent to compete for an NBA Championship.

Following the trade, Martin Jr. made a post to Instagram with a lengthy message.

Martin Jr. captioned his post: "H-TOWNN‼️ I want to thank the Fertitta Family and Rafael Stone for taking a chance on my 3 years ago and giving me an opportunity to be a NBA player. I want to thank Coach Silas and the staff I’ve had the past 3 years for coaching me. Thank you to all my weights coaches, trainers, media and film crew and equipment managers. The Clippers are coming off a season where they were the fifth seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Martin Jr. was initially the 52nd pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of IMG Academy and has career averages of 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 54.5% from the field in 206 regular season games.
