Jazz-Celtics Injury Report: Markkanen, Hendricks Status Update
© Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz will be back in action on Tuesday night as they face off in a home date against the league's best Boston Celtics. After coming up short in their previous two matchups, Will Hardy's squad will have a chance at redemption, albeit against one of the most talented teams in the NBA.

Since passing the All-Star break, things haven't been the prettiest for the Jazz. They continue to drop in the Western Conference standings and out of contention for the Play-In tournament and have now come up short in fourteen of their past sixteen games. While it bodes well for the prospects of their top-ten protected pick this summer, the product on the court has seen better days.

Before entering tonight, there are a few players on each side who ultimately may not hit the floor. Both the Celtics and Jazz unveiled their injury reports before Tuesday's matchup:

Utah Jazz:

Lauri Markkanen- OUT (hamstring)

Taylor Hendricks- OUT (toe)

Boston Celtics:

Kristaps Porzingis- QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)

Jrue Holiday- QUESTIONABLE (knee)

Al Horford- QUESTIONABLE (injury management)

Svi Mykhailiuk- QUESTIONABLE (personal reasons)

The Jazz will be without Lauri Markkanen and Taylor Hendricks once again, as Markkanen is dealing with a quadriceps injury, and Hendricks rehabbing from a banged-up big toe. Utah opted to add two more forwards to the end of their depth with Darius Bazley and Kenneth Lofton Jr., which could be a signal of what the future of the rest of this season holds for the two inactives.

As for the Celtics, the forecast of their starting five for Tuesday is majorly in question. Porzingis and Holiday are among the two key players listed as questionable, as well as Al Horford's status remains a bit foggy. Once we get closer to tip-off, we'll likely have a better understanding of how this Boston team will look in their attempt to extend their win streak vs. the Jazz.

The Jazz and Celtics will tip off in Salt Lake City at 7 PM MT at the Delta Center.
