Golden State Warriors Reportedly Sign 7-Year NBA Veteran
USA TODAY Sports

Rodney McGruder is coming off a year where he played in 32 regular season games for the Detroit Pistons.

The seven-year NBA veteran averaged 5.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 40.8% from the field and 42.3% from the three-point range.

This summer, McGruder became a free agent, and Shams Charania The Athletic and Stadium reported that he would sign a deal with the Golden State Warriors

Via Charania: "Free agent forward Rodney McGruder is finalizing a deal with the Golden State Warriors, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. McGruder will compete for a roster spot in Warriors camp."

In addition to Detroit, McGruder has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat.

His career averages are 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range in 317 regular season games.

The 32-year-old has also appeared in nine NBA playoff games with the Heat and Clippers.

Since McGruder is a reliable veteran, he could be a good addition to the Warriors if he is able to make the roster.

As for the Warriors, they are coming off a year where they were the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record.

They beat the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in seven games), but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round (in six games).

The franchise has won four NBA Championships over the previous nine seasons.
