Full list of 50 players reportedly available ahead of NBA trade deadline

Unlike last year, there isn't a player of Kevin Durant's ilk available ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline. Yet, there's no shortage of quality role-players and fringe All-Stars on the market who could prove to be the missing piece of the puzzle for a title contender.

The Athletic has ranked the 50 players who can be traded for before 3 p.m. ET on Thursday. The list makes it a point to exclude Bulls guard Zach LaVine, who recently underwent season-ending surgery. Also, Rockets guard Jalen Green — previously believed to be available — is off the market.

It's worth noting that the list prioritizes trade value more than the caliber of the player, which would explain why Alex Caruso (and his bargain contract) ranks ahead of former All-Stars such as Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell and Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins. Similarly, a player such as Miles Bridges — averaging a career-high 21.3 points — is ranked last due to his complicated contract situation.

With barely 24 hours left until the trade deadline, it remains to be seen which teams truly swing for the fences. In recent history, the most impactful trade-deadline deals include Marc Gasol to Raptors in 2019, Aaron Gordon to the Nuggets in 2021 and Wiggins to the Warriors in 2020. All three transactions led to championships, with the Raptors winning in the same year they made the deal.
