Former All-Star predicts Victor Wembanyama will break hallowed record

Hall of Fame center Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in March 1962 is thought to be one of the most unbreakable records in sports, let alone the NBA.

Retired one-time All-Star small forward Metta World Peace said Tuesday that he thinks San Antonio Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama will break the record "at some point in time in the next seven years." The former Defensive Player of the Year made the shocking prediction during an appearance on FanDuel TV's "Run It Back," which is hosted by former NBA forward Chandler Parsons and guard Lou Williams, as well as former ESPN reporter Michelle Beadle and Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Tuesday wasn't the first time this season that World Peace has offered a wild prediction for the Spurs' Frenchman.

Following Wembanyama's career-high 38-point explosion against the Phoenix Suns in early November, the 44-year-old took to social media and looked into a crystal ball for the No. 1 overall pick.

Those words came one day after World Peace wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that "In regards to sports," Wembanyama was "the best 19-year-old (he'd) ever seen."

"Wemby" is averaging 18.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and a league-leading 3.1 blocks, as well as 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.5 minutes per game across the first 28 contests of his career. He's added a .442/.290/.793 shooting line.
