Double Vision: Clippers’ Ivica Zubac seizes the day

This space aims to identify players who represent good value for recording a double-double in a particular game. If they post double-digit totals in any two of the five main categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals), backers will at least double their money – and sometimes make much more than that.

The bet: A double-double for Clippers center Ivica Zubac (+310 DraftKings)

After sustaining a calf injury in February, Zubac missed a total of four games and was on a minutes restriction in his return to action last Sunday. But he looked in fine form during Wednesday’s win against the Raptors, scoring 17 points and pulling down eight rebounds over his 27 minutes.

With 10.3 points and 10.1 boards per game, Zubac is averaging a double-double for the first time in his seven-year career. He has been especially productive on the offensive glass, as only two players have recorded more offensive rebounds than his 204. He also gets 17.7 rebound chances per contest, which is the seventh-highest mark in the league.

The Knicks are in Los Angeles for back-to-back games against the Clippers and Lakers. This one is a rare Saturday matinee, with tipoff set for just after 1 p.m. local time. When these teams played an afternoon game last year, a dynamic Zubac tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds.

We like him to start this NBA day in a similar way.
