Chicago Bulls injury update: Javonte Green to be re-evaluated in two weeks
USA TODAY Sports

The season might be over for Chicago Bulls reserve forward Javonte Green. The team announced how Green had no timetable for a return and would be re-evaluated in around two weeks. With the Bulls left with just 17 games on their slate in the regular season, it appears there is just not enough time left for the energetic do-it-all forward to come back and make any sort of impact.

Out since January 11

There was hope that the 29-year-old would return soon after undergoing arthroscopic debridement to remedy a bone bruise in his right knee back on January 11. Obviously, things have not gone according to plan as the Radford alum has yet to progress to doing any lateral movements during rehab, as he’s still experiencing discomfort.

At the moment, Green has been limited to straight-line running, and it’s unclear when Green will be able to do any sort of full basketball drills. With time slowly running out on the regular season and Chicago's chances of making it to the play-in tournament fading away with every loss, it may be in Green’s best interest to focus on getting back to 100%, especially since he’ll become a free agent this offseason.

The Bulls have missed his energy

The Bulls have clearly missed Green’s presence. Although his numbers never made the headlines, Green’s infectious energy and ability to guard multiple positions have been a huge asset for the team’s defense. Green’s aerial assaults on the rim were a crowd-pleaser and an energizing part of the Bulls’ offense.
