Phillips will be in a walking boot and his status will be updated as appropriate.
With Patrick Williams out for the season, Phillips has seen increased minutes over the past month-plus.
The Tennessee product recently played a career-high 27:57 and tied his highest point total with 11 against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. Phillips is averaging 2.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.3 assists in 8.1 minutes per game across 40 contests so far in his rookie season.
However, Phillips missed Thursday's game and figures to be a mainstay on the Bulls' injury report in light of Friday's update.
Regardless, the banged-up Bulls must trudge forward with the Boston Celtics visiting the United Center on Saturday. Tip-off is at 7 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
