 Brooklyn Nets Release 3-Year NBA Player

Armoni Brooks has played in ten games for the  Brooklyn Nets so far this season and is averaging 4.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 32.6% from the field and 34.4% from the three-point range.   

On Saturday, the Nets waived Brooks, so they will now have an open two-way contract spot.   

Via Brian Lewis of The New York Post: "The #Nets have requested waivers on two-way guard Armoni Brooks. Brooklyn’s roster now stands at 17 players, including two two-way players. #nba"

In addition to the Nets, Brooks has also spent time with the Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors.  

His career averages are 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 36.2% from the field and 33.1% from the three-point range in 84 games. 

During his rookie year, the 25-year-old averaged 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 40.6% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range in 20 games. 

As for the Nets, they are the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-20 record in their first 36 games.  

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and most recently defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 124-115. 

Following the Thunder, the Nets will play their next game when they host the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at Barclays Center. 

On the road, the Nets have gone 6-12 in 18 games, while they are 10-8 in the 18 games they have played on their home floor.
