Allen Iverson Expresses Desire To Join 76ers Organization
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

NBA legend Allen Iverson wants to join the Philadelphia 76ers organization in some capacity.

Iverson told Rachel Nichols that he wants to be more involved with helping the Sixers.

“My role there is nowhere near what I think it’s supposed to be,” Iverson said. “I love Philadelphia so much and I love that organization for everything they did for me. They made me a household name. I just love what they did for me. Besides what I did for them when I was playing, I want to still give them more of what I have.”

Iverson, one of the greatest players in Sixers history, is a legend in Philadelphia. When The Answer talks, everyone stops what they’re doing and listens.

“Obviously, talk to players about what’s going on and be there for them if they want to talk to me about anything,” Iverson said. “I want to be there for any type of advice I can give, like if they needed my help with anything. Anything that Allen Iverson could do, that’s what I want to do. I get emotional talking about it because I thought I should have been doing this, you know what I mean? I look at other teams and I see former players, they’re just around. Anything that I have as a basketball savant, just use me.”

Iverson played in 722 games with the Sixers. He won four scoring titles and one MVP Award with Philadelphia. Iverson finished his Sixers career with averages of 27.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists.

Iverson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He is one of the most iconic players in NBA history.

An 11-time All-Star, Iverson averaged 26.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists with the Sixers, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies.
