76ers trade Al Horford, picks to Thunder for Danny Green, Terrance Ferguson?

The Oklahoma City Thunder landed a five-time All-Star and additional draft capital, while the Philadelphia 76ers distanced themselves from an anchor of an NBA contract.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that the 76ers are sending veteran Al Horford, Serbian guard Vasilije Micic, the 34th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and a lightly protected 2025 first-round pick to the Thunder for Danny Green and Terrance Ferguson.

The transaction provided the Thunder with even more assets ahead of Wednesday evening's draft.

Horford averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in his one and only season with Philadelphia but was never an ideal fit on the court. That he's signed through the spring of 2023 likely also led to his exit from the City of Brotherly Love.

Green is coming off back-to-back titles won with the Toronto Raptors and, most recently, the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers agreed to ship Green to OKC earlier this week.

Ferguson has played with only the Thunder since being selected by OKC in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft. He averaged 3.9 points per game in 56 regular-season appearances and 38 starts during the 2019-20 campaign.

Philadelphia drafted Micic in 2014, but the guard who turns 27 in January is expected to remain overseas through the upcoming season.
