Watch: 'We should have won today'- Tyler Reddick laments Texas loss as 23XI Racing’s pit woes cost him again
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway saw Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott win, breaking his 42-race winless streak. But, throughout the race, he wasn’t the dominant racer. 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick had one of the quickest cars on the track and was on his course to victory before a late pit-lane mishap.

Tyler Reddick remained in the top 10 throughout the race, after the first stage he made a ton of moves to get into the top 5 before taking the lead from Denny Hamlin. But, his hard work was undone during his pit stop, dropping him down the pack and only enabling him to finish P4 in the end after leading 37 laps. Following the race, the No. 45 shares his thoughts on his disappointing result in Texas.

Yeah, I mean We should have won today, that’s all there is to it. Tyler Reddick told to Frontstretch.

The No. 45 Toyota Camry XSE seemed to be massively disappointed after the chance of victory slipped out of his hands due to circumstances not under his control. Nevertheless, the P4 is Reddick’s fourth top-10 finish in a row and something that will hopefully make him want to bounce back stronger as he is in very good form.

Tyler Reddick shares his views on ‘worn out’ Texas track

Ever since the Texas Motor Speedway was reconfigured in 2016, there’s been a lot of criticism about its surface. Recently, Chase Elliott also mentioned how the track was one of his favorites before the changes. Following up on this, after his disappointing race Tyler Riddick also claimed that the track is worn out. The American added how the track’s worn-out nature is something that makes it difficult to maneuver on.

Yeah, I mean, once that group came in, you could kind of move around. But really, if you have a really good solid race car, you can still really hit there and all that stuff far behind. But yeah, you can move around and make some passes, but this track is starting to wear out a little bit. Tyler Reddick said.

The 23 XI driver seemed to elude to the track’s overall issues with passing cars and racing wheel-to-wheel after his pit-road issues sent him to the back. With all the criticism that the track is receiving from the drivers, pundits, and fans alike NASCAR will definitely have to look into it before it becomes a massive issue.
