Kyle Busch cracks jokes after learning his dad is spotting for KBM in Milwaukee

Apparently, there are some decisions that even Kyle Busch is unaware of when it comes to his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team. While his name might be on the building and the trucks, his dad Tom still has veto power, it appears.

Tom Busch is apparently on the roster for Chase Purdy this weekend at the Milwaukee Mile. As the Truck Series continues their season into the playoffs, teams need everyone they can get. The series all share personnel, and when weekends are split, it creates challenges.

Back in the day, Tom spotted for his son Kyle. However, Kyle Busch had no idea that he was on the roster until he was at Daytona. Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports doesn’t miss anything, and he saw Tom on the KBM roster.

“That’s just another license I had to buy this year,” Busch joked.

“At least there’s not two Busch’s in the field where he’ll get confused on which one he needs to spot for.”

Kyle Busch is looking to get back on track ahead of the NASCAR Playoffs. He hasn’t had the best stretch in the last five to six weeks of the season. With that said, he has three wins and could add a fourth if he puts himself in the right position on Saturday night.

Rowdy has been fairly low-key during his rough patch. Then again, you don’t get asked a lot of questions by the media when you’re finishing in the back half of the field. Busch managed a P14 performance last week at Watkins Glen. That’s a step in the right direction, but he needs more top-5s than top-15s.

Kyle Busch doesn’t have much luck at Daytona

When it comes to the superspeedways, Kyle Busch doesn’t have the best results. Yes, he won at Talladega this season, however, he had been through a string of bad luck on these drafting tracks. You have to go back to July 2008 to find a Dayotna win on Busch’s record.

With that said, he knows he has to step it up. If Busch wants to be in the hunt for this third championship, then the results have to change. In the last three races, Busch has been P37, P36, and P14. He was P3 at Richmond a month ago, but that now seems like it was in another season at this point.

This year at the Daytona 500, Busch had a car capable of winning and was wrecked before the checkered flag came out. Of course, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. went on to win the race.

What will Kyle Busch do to get ahead this weekend in the Coke Zero Sugar 400? Could he be on his way to a fourth win this season and his first at Daytona in 15 years?
