UFC CEO Dana White Vows to Deliver With 'One-Off' 2024 UFC Event

If this doesn't get you excited for 'Noche UFC 2', nothing will.

Since the inception of the Sphere in Las Vegas a few months ago, UFC CEO Dana White has been teasing that we'll see a one-of-a-kind UFC Fight Night held at the unique venue later this year.

After the success of their first Noche UFC on Mexican Independence Day, White plans on having the sequel at the immersive Sphere, which can hold up to 20,000 fans. Like the blockbuster UFC 300 card, White is selling the heck out of this event ahead of its September date.

"We'll be the first sporting event to ever do it because you know that I'm gonna spend the money and I'm gonna do it right," White told ESPN. "When I say that I'm gonna deliver something, I'm gonna deliver."

The process to put on UFC fights at the Sphere hasn't been easy, though. The arena is unlike anything the promotion has ever worked with, but White is sure they'll do the impossible with Noche UFC.

"It's incredibly challenging," White said of doing a UFC event with the Sphere's layout. "People always ask me, why would you do this? Because nobody has, and most people think it can't be done. The night that I started talking about doing this sphere, people are like, it won't work here. This doesn't work for a fight. The layout, this, that, there's 50 million reasons why it won't work there. I'm gonna show everybody in September why it will work there.

"I wish I didn't have long sleeves on and I'd show you the goosebumps that I have right now. You have no idea how badass this is gonna be. It's gonna be incredible. The Mexican people have an energy about them, the love for their country, the support of their own, and it translates into a live event and it translates on television. People feel it and people like it, and people respect it. We're gonna take that to a level that nobody's ever seen before. It's gonna be like a movie or a TV show or a documentary and a sporting event all colliding into one. It's gonna be amazing."

Dana White says the annual 'Noche UFC' is here to stay, but the UFC boss claims this will probably be the only year the passion project is held at the quite lucrative Sphere.

"The sphere will be a a one-time event," White continued. "Who knows? I don't know. But yeah, I'm looking at this as like a one-time event. When you put on an event, you put together a P and L (profit and loss) and it's a business. I talk about this all the time. We run a business and we make money and this is more than a business deal for me, this event.

"This is much more to me then, this isn't about making money. I'm actually gonna spend money on this event. This is much bigger for me than anything. I want this, I wanna do it, and I wanna do it right, and I want to pull off something that nobody will ever pull off ever again."

The Mexican fans might have to wait until September for this one-off card, but luckily for them, UFC Mexico City is right around the corner this weekend.
