Sean O’Malley will be rocking a slightly new look when he steps into the cage to defend his bantamweight title at UFC 299 this Saturday.

“Suga” claimed the UFC bantamweight title when he knocked out Aljamain Sterling in the second round last September, and now the 29-year-old will try to avenge the lone loss of his career when he takes on Marlon “Chito” Vera in Miami.

Already well-known for his unique look and personality, O’Malley is switching up his attire for UFC 299 and will enter the Octagon wearing a new pair of pink shorts.

The 29-year-old has expressed nothing but confidence ahead of his first title defence, and in a recent ESPN MMA interview he also claimed that the only reason Vera is getting a title shot is because O’Malley requested that rematch.

“Cory [Sandhagen], Merab [Dvalishvili], you could argue those guys deserve the title fight over Chito,” O’Malley told Brett Okamoto. “I went out there, knocked out the greatest bantamweight of all time. I said ‘Hey, I just want one thing. Let me have the 'Chito' rematch.’”

Currently the UFC’s #5-ranked bantamweight contender, “Chito” returned to the win column at UFC 292 when he defeated Pedro Munhoz before O’Malley knocked out Sterling to claim the bantamweight belt in the night’s main event.

Vera was on an impressive four-fight win streak before a lacklustre decision loss to Cory Sandhagen in a UFC Fight Night main event, and the highly-anticipated rematch between him and “Suga” will cap off a stacked night of fights at UFC 299 in Miami.
