Tony Schiavone sees no reason to address CM Punk's comments on The MMA Hour earlier this week.

On Monday, Punk told Ariel Helwani that it was Schiavone who asked him to speak to Jack Perry backstage at AEW Collision when Perry wanted to smash the window of a rental car. Punk claimed Schiavone said that Perry had been cussing him and others out backstage and Schiavone wanted Punk to talk to him.

Schiavone was asked about the situation on his What Happened When podcast and said he has not listened to Punk's interview but others have told him what was said.

"I really don't give a s--t about it," Schiavone said. "I'm not going to get into this. I know what he said and let him talk if he wants."

"I don't give a sh--t, that's all I can say. I can't get into that. It would be stupid for me to get into that. I have no idea what he said with the exception of someone told me 'Oh, he brought up your name, and here's what he said.' And I went, 'So, what?'"

Thompson emphasized that Punk was not being negative about him but Schiavone still said there was no reason for him to address the issue.

"No, I know, that's why I'm saying, so what? If he was critical of me, people who say 'Oh, Shiavone on his podcast is going to defend himself..' I have nothing to defend."

Earlier in the conversation, Schiavone praised multiple AEW staff and talent for the support they showed him following the passing of his beloved pet dog, Bug. He also complimented AEW president Tony Khan, calling him, "one of the nicest people I've ever been around."

"This is to everybody out there who likes to rip on Tony Khan," Schiavone said. "He is genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever been around in my life. He really is. And you may say, 'Oh, you're sucking up to the boss.' If that's what you think, go f--k yourself because I'm not."
